Hmm... it is like after reading the papers about the incident here is one possible reason i think why the final student did that...
The student have been warned 3 times about the results and the prof was his IA prof and he could just simply help him get out of the loop of kana warn and termination of the scholarship by given him a better grades for his IA but the prof did not... so in the end he was in a fit of anger when he knew that his scholarship have been terminated and was at a lost of not knowing what to do... so he did and plan it all...
That is my personal point of view about the incident... Anyway like JX said in the discussion area we humans should not treat life so ....
